As are most of the other elementals, Xlylem is without gender and has no genitalia. Shi does however get a bit annoyed when refered to as an 'it' and preferes a non-gender specific 'shi'. Xylem looks like a rather large Forest Kaasht, ecxept that hir 'fur' is not fur at all, but very slender leaves. Hir ears are very elongated, and also more like leaves than flesh. From hir ankles sprout bright white roots, forming fur-like tufts. Hir tail is unlike that of either a male kaasht or a female's. Feather-like leaves sprout lateraly from the tail, and run in tapering rows down to the tip, which is nearly naked. Hir body is shaped almost like that of a well-muscled female, but it has a mane of longer grass-fur, like that of a striped hyena. Unlike hir Metal Elemental sibling Ore, shi has a far more feminine looking face, and yet still not fully so. Hir forehead is graced with a crest of fern-like leaves.
