Chamaan
Name: Chamaan
Gender: Male
Age: 92 (mature adult)
Species: Greater minena
Height: 10'10"
Length: 10'7"
Appearance: Chamaan is a generally small minena. Though he tends to lift weights to stay in shape when times are dull, muscles just don't seem to really build up on him. In the end, he just comes off looking lean.

His coat is of a dark color, possibly blue, and is streaked with slashes of a deep (and dark) blue and slightly dulled red. The red stripes tend to come in sets of three and appear on the top of his nose, along his shoulders, haunches, back, neck and at the base of his tail. The blue appear in similar groups, though generally perpendicular to the red, on his jaw line, ears, shoulders, back, haunches, and base of tail. A few stray red lines trail his legs and tail. Finally, a set of small vibrant yellow streaks, so short they're practically dots, are arranged along his sides and tail. His eyes are a similar color of bright striking yellow.

He has a small green gem attached to a leather strap that he wears as a necklace. It's generally hidden in a shirt or the like, but the minena is never without it.

He rarely looks the same anyway as he's very good at using dyes to change his colors.

He also tends to wear random combinations of a pair of leather toeless boots, cloth bracers, loose pants (a couple different colors, all dull), a sleeveless shirt, a tail bracer and a cloth face covering.
History: Chamaan's story is long. While people don't generally realize it when they think of him, it's only logical. After all, there must be some explanation as to why his profession is what it is. Master assassins don't just sprout out of the ground. What sent him on this terrible, bloody path?

Chamaan grew up in a small rather rural town. Its location doesn't matter as he never intends to return to it. He was the runt of his family and hence was often the subject of friendly mocking and teasing. This never really bothered him, particularly after discovering that his size and coloration let him creep around unseen and prank anyone who made fun of him. When his siblings discovered his ability they were of course overjoyed. What fun to have a sneaky little brother! The siblings started using him to prank each other, getting back for someone else's retaliation for getting back at someone. He enjoyed the sport and found much pleasure in helping people out. It was all fun and games anyway.

When adolescence set on he started being used for more practical purposes - finding out who liked who and leaving dead animals in other people's beds. He gradually started collecting payment for his miniature missions (choicey meats, trinkets and the like) and soon he was taking bribes from anyone who would pay. He started developing his quiet and dispassionate attitude when he reached puberty and he continued to develop it when he realized it was useful for boosting prices.

Then one day, somehow, one of the jobs went too far. He pushed his target into the river and didn't realize that he couldn't swim. He chased the minena all the way down the river as the current dragged him past and felt his world shatter when he found the corpse on the bank. He was already around 53 and without further thought he gathered his meager possessions and left before his deed could be found out.

Chamaan set out across Tryne, stealing for himself or for payers to get food and lodging. He slowly locked away any innocence he had as he accepted what he had done. He realized that his previously taught morals only got in the way when he earned his money and hence, they probably were flawed anyway. His flawless acts of stealth started to become known though few realized they were all done by one person.

After about a year of his aimless wandering and doing various odd jobs he met Kysalia. On one of his missions (to steal some money from a particularly wealthy kaasht) someone managed to spot him. He was weak from hunger and slow from exhaustion and soon he found himself trapped by the other, a muscular Mhihhris who managed to out-sneak him and follow him into the house. Though he tried to escape she quickly caught and overpowered him. Apparently, she was in the trade as well. Somehow they formed a partnership. She was about 10 years older and she had considerably more experience. Chamaan learned fast and soon the two of them were a fearsome duo. Vague descriptions of two deadly assassins became the talk of the bars. Chamaan found himself, against all that he had learned, slowly regain an emotion as he subconsciously fell in love.

Ten years later their infamy betrayed them. The patron and the victim collaborated and an ambush was set up. They fought valiantly but they really stood no chance. In a desperate move Kysalia threw her partner out the window of the three story building. Chamaan grabbed her necklace as he went, trying to stop her but it broke loose and that was the last he saw of her. His fall was broken by a pile of trash that might have been some vagabond's home. Though severely injured, he survived with the knowledge that the person he loved died for him..

He fled to Alcaine and shed his last emotion like a bloodstained cloak. He used ever bit of knowledge he had gained and soon horror stories were told of him to warn kits not to go out at night. He mastered the use of disguise and of the tools of his trade. The only things consistent about his appearance are his piercing yellow eyes and the green gem necklace who's cord is tangled in his mane.

He continues to reside in Alcaine despite its recent destruction and lives in meager lodgings in the Desert sector (though he makes a point of moving every now and then to avoid becoming known). Though he has considerably less of a bias against kaasht than other Greaters, it's probably just because he dislikes everyone. Jobs are in smaller demand now that so many people are already dead so he's started doing various other things to boost his income. He helps clean up the city and look after shops in exchange for a few claws or a bite to eat.
