Name: Dagoth Ur
Gender: Male
Age and life stage: 94 (mature adult)
Length: 13'5"
Height: 13'3"
Race: Greater minena
Appearance: Dagoth is a massive mhohhro, well-muscled and obviously a warrior in
stance and build. His fur is shaggy but clean and not too tangled, each
strand musty gray with silvered tips that make him look almost striped.
From the knees down on all four legs the fur is a deep umber brown, fading
to black at his toes. The tuft at the end of his tail is white, as is the
short mane falling over his shoulders and dipping loosely over his eyes.
Most striking about his coloring, however, is the striping of white and
black blatently streaking his face. Running from his dark brown nose to
the scruffy mane is a dash of pure white, curling over his muzzle to the
generous fur of his cheeks. Separating top from bottom on either side of
his muzzle is another stripe, this one of stark black, which reaches all
the way up to his ears. His eyes are a cool brown.
As he has no magical abilities to protect him from the dangers of his
ever-changing environment, Dagoth possesses a few pieces of metal that fit
to him in strategic places: across his sides, to save him from goring;
between his ears, to protect his valuable skull; and strapped to the
outsides of his legs, to shield against breaking in travel or battle. If
he is not expecting eminent danger, however, the unweildy things will be
strapped to his large fleepip as packs. Most often he wears a thick cloak
of midnight blue and a long, broad-bladed sword strapped across his back,
ready to be drawn if need be.
History: Dagoth Ur was born in the mountains of Kyisna, one of the few greater
minena who settled in the high lands rather than their native plains. He
was a rare only minling, with no twin brother or sister, and it set him
apart from the other minlings in the small village. However, he didn't
often mind, for it allowed him to spend more time on learning the family
trade. Of the Ur family of warriors, Dagoth spent the better portion of
his childhood in training for battle and protection of the self and
others. In the tradition of his parents, and their parents before them,
and so on for generations, he left his mountain home as soon as he became
a mature adult, after learning all his parents could teach him, and set
off to learn what the world had to offer.
Dagoth Ur is a gruff minena, strong of body, mind, and opinion. Suiting
his warrior path, he holds honor in very high regard but he also respects
power. He does have that nagging soft spot, of course, like many of the
"tough" creatures in the world, for youngsters and animals, made obvious
by his companion, Forriidig the fleepip. He is a formidable swords-minena
and just as skilled with his bare paws. Still, though he refuses to openly
admit it, he misses being in the company of other minena.
Pet: Thought he is treated more like a pack animal than a pet, Dagoth's fleepip
is very loyal to his master. He is taken care of, fed, protected, and
given the occasional scratch on the head, and that seems to be all he
needs. Dagoth named him simply Forriidig, which in the minena tongue means
nothing more than "fleepip".
