Appearance: Filen, in her true form anyway, is actually quite a beautiful kaasht. The fur reaching from just above her hindquarters to her head, and spreading down to her entire left front leg and half of her right is crimson. The rest, exculding her tail, is a gold that, while greatly contrasting with the crimson, takes every opportunity to catch light and shine. She nearly reflects light onto the ground below her on a particularly sunny day. Her tail is rather becomingly slender and is black with small golden spots, gradually turning to crimson again near the tip. Filen's ears, while not slender, curve in a lovely fashion away from her face, topped with long black tufts. She has a large black spot slightly behind and inbetween her ears, on which a very small Forest rune is inscribed. As is her nose, her glare stripes are black, and the only other markings she has are a dusting of gold spots on her left shoulder. "Terne," in contrast to Filen, is really nothing all that special; her entire coat is grass green, with darker green spots of varying sizes scattered about her body and tail, and black ears. The only thing alike between the two identities are the deep green eyes.
History: Filen spent the majority of her childhood in a very loving and caring atmosphere. Both of her parents were pacifists and justified killing only for food, and even then, sparingly. They did their best to infuse Filen with their beliefs, teaching the little kit how to make good choices, use good judgement, and always, always, always, reasoning over fighting; the basic belief to never kill another kaasht for any reason was constantly held strong and firm. But her parents did realize, as soon as they gave birth to Filen, that she would be hunted by the Guild for her colors.

So the family constantly moved throughout the forests of Tryne, even seeking hospitality from Cave Kaasht now and then. Filen never questioned it at all; she simply accepted the fact that she moved around a lot, finding nothing unusual about it. She'd make temporary friends with other kaasht sometimes, but as the family commonly lived alone, her parents were her only real permanent friends.

Eventually, though, the Guild did find her out. Filen's parents had managed to keep her protected and hidden until her third level, but then her life was shattered into pieces. When a pair of Guilders came crashing into the forest that they were living in, Filen didn't know who they were, but the hostility her parents were showing them scared her enough to make her run and hide in some bushes to watch, trembling. Filen had never seen her parents act hostile towards anyone or anything... ever. Everything her parents lived by was thrown into the wind as they tried to save their daughter with everything they had. And then her life was scarred forever by seeing her peace-loving, nonviolent parents get brutally ripped apart by the seasoned, merciless fighters of the Guild. She inadvertently gave away her position by running out towards her parents and screaming, a horrible trill of pure terror. Filen ran to her parents' mangled bodies and collapsed onto them, trying desperately with all of her power to use her color abilities to heal them, but the highest one she had was Knit Flesh, and no matter how much of her energy she poured out on them, they weren't getting up. As she sobbed into their bodies, one of the Guilders snatched her up violently with his tail and dragged her off of and away from her still bleeding parents. Filen tried to escape and run, slashing away and using all of her abilities she could on the Guilder that snatched her, but the other Guilder, who was part iridescent, disrupted all of her abilities, wrapped her tail tightly around the screaming kaasht, and dragged her away.

The Guild tried for years to break Filen, but, fueled by the terrible deaths of her parents, she put up an incredibly strong resistance to their "methods." Getting frustrated with her, the Guild finally threw her in a torture chamber for three hours, which is where her resistance slowly started to crumble. Filen was desperate not to show them her pain, but they simply repeated the process over and over, for longer periods of time, until she was almost fully broken. Sensing definite progress, the Guild sent her on her first mission, supervised by other kaasht. She was to find a Protector who had been causing trouble recently, and kill him. Filen tried desperately to run away, to just not go at all, but her supervisors stopped her, caught her, and beat her, and she was out of heart; she couldn't find it in her to struggle anymore. Then Filen killed her first kaasht; in fact, her first thing ever. And then she completely broke. The sight of a kaasht lying dead and bloodied on the ground... like her parents looked... caused by her hand! It was simply too much to bear. Filen, in effect, went completely mad. She retreated to a dark corner of her mind, mulling over the deaths of her parents and the Protector over and over and over, not controlling or caring what else she did. She never talked, barely ate or drank, and did simply what people would tell her to; Filen was no longer in control of her body. The Guild sent her on several more missions after that, but she never remembered a one, or anything else she did for years and years. It was much safer just to stay in her head...

Filen reached her fifth level, but again, she didn't know or care. She gained abilities, but she had no idea what they were or even that she had them at all; the Guild had simply drummed them into her. Killing became a reflex that she didn't know she had gained. But one night... she was sent out simply to search for and destroy any Protectors, but she could barely tell the difference between them and normal kaasht now. Filen killed something - she couldn't tell what, if it was kaasht or minena or Protector - and all of a sudden, a wave of peace and comfort washed over her, emotions she hadn't felt even since her parents were killed. Her body became gradually reconnected with her mind; she felt her legs again, her tail, her paws. As her vision cleared, Filen could truly see for the first time in years, and the first thing she saw was a murin in front of her, hovering in place. < Stop, > it said, and without another second passing, Filen ran away from the Guild forever, followed by the murin, whom she named Serru.

She Mimicked the last kaasht she had killed - thankfully, it was a female Forest, about seventh level and green - and returned to the forests she hadn't seen in years. Filen dubbed herself Terne and lives now in a sunny glade, acting as storyteller to the local kits, and returning to her parents' philosophy of life. Mimic is always up, except while she sleeps. And somehow, though she has reached her seventh level, the Guild hasn't found her yet...
Pet: Serru is quite a beautiful color of midnight blue; her fur is sleek and shiny, especially in Sirencia's light. Her ears, nose, paws, and tail tip are all black, as is a marking covering her shoulder blades that looks remarkably like a star. Serru's eyes are light blue, but she doesn't like the daytime much, so she keeps them closed most of the time.
