History: |
The first thing that one should know about Tikkinsii is that she is a liar. Perhaps she is insecure, but more likely the little Murin simply enjoys stringing others along with her mesmerizing tales of adventure and romance. However, it is because of this little habit... hobby... that all of Tikkinsii's bonds have left her, most just fed up with her slightly incorrect information and the trouble that it often brings. Tikkinsii, though she hides her emotions well, is very dismayed by this pattern. It may even be right to say that she doesn't realize her game bothers those she lies to. She tries very hard to get over her feelings of abandonment, and many times she can forget... but not always. The Murin does not give up easily though, and despite her past failures she continues to search out creatures willing to be her bond. She yearns for a permanent companion, like most of the others of her kind... and the fact that she just can't seem to accomplish that only forces Tikkinsii to push herself harder. She hates to be alone. When Tikkinsii is by herself she is a very nervous creature. Something from her past, something that she cannot recall perhaps, has taught her to fear solitude, and that she does. Thus, Tikkinsii is usually found within cities, or following bands of travelers, but never, never, will she be completely alone. All quirks aside, Tikkinsii is a rather friendly Murin, always willing to talk, or listen, though she finds that quite a bit harder than the first. Many creatures who first come upon her like her instantly, her innocent face, and soft fur... her charming manner. However, there are not many who continue to appreciate Tikkinsii for long, she tends to spoil it for herself within the first couple minutes of any communication. When she is with a bond, Tikkinsii is very protective, except when she feels like being mischievous, and she would, though it hardly seems possible, give her life for any being who was willing to devote themselves to her as she is willing them. My only mistake was love, might be the beginning of one of Tikkinsii's narratives, perhaps a bogus story about her past. Just about everyone who knew Tikkinsii well, knows a different story of her life. However, there are not many who know her true story... perhaps, only she does. Tikkinsii, in her first life, was born to wealthy family of Forest Kaasht in the great city of Alcaine. She was just like the other kits, playful, innocent, cute... the same in every way but one. Tikkinsii was a bicolor. Her parents taught Tikkinsii that this was something to hide, that her fur was something to be ashamed of... and the kit believed them. The family tried to conceal the truth about the female, dying her fur, teaching her to lie about it, making Tikkinsii feel as though she was something horrible... strange. Little did she know that her parents were desperately trying to protect her from the Guilders. If only she had. As the kit grew, she became tired of the lies she was forced to tell, tired of pretending to be weak... and one day she snapped. Tikkinsii let the secret out. She couldn't have known what she had done to herself... she didn't know then, but Tikkinsii's ignorance did not last long. Shortly after it was discovered by those around her that she was a bicolor, the Forest's parents decided to move... perhaps they could still keep her existence a secret if they left quickly enough. But it was not to be so. Tikkinsii was kidnapped before she ever reached her new home, though it was not the Guilders that had caught her as her parents had feared from the day of her birth. No, Tikkinsii had been taken by slavers... The Forest was too proud to be a slave, her very walk and tone, told the traders that... but she was strong, and the dye in the female's fur was beginning to dull, to show her true colorings. She was valuable, but the slave traders just could not control her... they needed to sell her off and fast! Their chance was not long in coming. Another bicolor, by the name of Plantak, came upon the group one evening, and after restraining himself long enough to look through their stock the male was intrigued by Tikkinsii and bought her. But the Forest was far from a obedient member of the Guild, strong or not, she simply would not obey. She was tortured... kept in solitude, but Tikkinsii would not give, until they finally killed her. It happened quickly, and Tikkinsii has often thought that perhaps her death was more than their doing, but a willing of her soul to pass on and end the suffering that she had brought upon herself. Of course, the female was offer a second chance... to take the form of a Murin, and she agreed. Returning to the world, Tikkinsii was relieved to find a place where she would no longer be forced to hide herself, to fight. Nope, this life would be a breeze. But Tikkinsii was wrong. Her first plan was to find her parents and stay with them, but she soon discovered that she could not... and sorrowed by this Tikkinsii set out on her yet unending search for a bond. Shy and fresh to everything, Tikkinsii found her first bond quickly. A young male bicolor, about her own age... well, the age she had been when she had been killed. Tikkinsii, watched the male for a while, hesitant as to whether she should really commit herself to him, but in the end she was convinced that it was her job to help one who had also been forced into the Guild, as she had been. Approaching the male was awkward, and Tikkinsii was afraid, but the Kaasht was surprisingly open to her and the two quickly became fast friends. His name had been Quar, and he was the most beautiful thing that she had ever seen. Tikkinsii fell in love with the bicolor... and it pained her that she was trapped in the body of a Murin... never to profess her feelings, never to have them returned. Tikkinsii struggled daily with her role as Quar's "pet," but any close relationship was better than none... and the female forced herself to be content with her place. Until... until Quar found a female whom he liked, and suddenly Tikkinsii was no longer so much part of his life. Her heart was breaking and she didn't know what she could do about it, she didn't... Quar began to notice a change in his Murin as his new relationship led her deeper and deeper into a depression, her love for the male binding her to him... trapped. The male asked her what was wrong, and before she could stop herself, Tikkinsii told her bond about her feelings for him. Disgusted by the confession, Quar told Tikkinsii that it was time for her to leave... he no longer needed a companion. The female was broken... she had thought that things would get better, but her new life seemed worse. Tikkinsii hung about the base for sometime, watching Quar... hidden from him. She could not leave him, he would forgive her... he would take her back, he had too. Yet the male's life was as unchanged as though she had never existed, and Tikkinsii left the Guilder base. If only she hadn't told him the truth... she would still be with him. If only she had, so long ago, kept the secret of her coloring... she would still be alive, and perhaps she could have had her love... Tikkinsii decided that she could no longer tell the truth, because her truth was her enemy, and Tikkinsii wanted the suffering to end. One bond after the other, one year at a time, Tikkinsii's fight to hide her every truth from her bonds turned into a habit, and then into something that she could no longer control. She knew it was happening, and she could have stopped herself, but despite Tikkinsii's lonely existence she could never forget the hurt that now bind her so tightly to her lies. |
