Appearance: Bengal is a powerful kaasht, built for battle and scarred in various places. His coat is a dull, dark orange, fading to white on his underside and paws. Thin stripes of black and dark brown run over most of his body, ringing his tail and pooling over his shoulders into a simple diamond of black. His eyes are a dark, shaded green and he rarely smiles. But then, what else could you expect from a Plains kaasht?
History: Bengal grew up in a small Plains clan by the name of Bladefang, the older and more powerful of the leader's kits. He grew up expecting to be the next clan leader, mildly spoiled by his parents and vicious towards his younger, mundane sister. He was gifted with an attitude of pride and a spirit of cruelty which made even his fighter parents wary of him and his clan resent him. When he tried to force his attentions on one of the clan females, that was the last straw; his parents stripped him of his position as heir and put him at the bottom of the ladder for him to learn humility.
He learned humility, all right, but not how they expected. Bengal fell victim to a love he, and none of the others in Bladefang, could not have possibly expected. He met a kaasht while out on a hunting trip, a kaasht not of his clan, and challenged her. She accepted and they fought, a battle ending in his defeat rather than hers. Wanting to know how the female kaasht fought so well, he followed her. Bengal discovered her name was Cherfa and she was a wanderer of no particular breed. He took this to mean she simply didn't want to tell him and he left it at that. For almost a year he tracked her, trying to get her to train him in battle, until he quite unexpectedly fell in love with her.
It was a surprise to him but not Cherfa; she had merely been waiting for him to realize why he had left his clan for her. She agreed to go back to his clan with him but, to his surprise, the members of his clan called Cherfa an enemy, one of the Green Demons. Since Bladefang was far from the forest, and Bengal was comparatively young, he hadn't recognized Cherfa as a Forest kaasht. His clan promptly killed her and exiled him for fraternizing with the enemy. Since he has spent his time wandering Tryne, avoiding most Plains and Forest kaasht and challenging others he comes across to keep his fighting skills honed.
