Name: | Jaspir |
Apparent Gender: | Male |
Length: | 3'9" |
Appearance: | Jaspir is a fairly large murin, being more than three and a half feet long, and well and sturdily built. His fur is cream-colored and silky, always impeccably groomed by his own tongue and paws or the affectionate efforts of his bond-mate. At each of his limbs-- forepaws, hind-paws, and tail-- and covering his face, his fur turns into a sharply contrasted color, brick red. It starts fragmented in little stripes, on his legs starting at the elbow or knee, on his tail starting at the very base, and on his face starting around his eyes. The color solidifies into pure, thick red at his knees, hocks, about halfway down the whispy fur of his tail, and on his long, pointed muzzle. Peering out from between the stripes of red and cream are two startlingly bright blue eyes, alive with mirth and cheer. |
History: |
Jaspir is an old murin, having spent nearly three hundred years in his current form. If asked, he would say that he was simply unable to get enough of life, even if stuck in a body that enjoys few of the pleasures of the flesh. He just doesn't want to go back to the rest he surely deserves by now-- not yet, anyway. Raanrali is his third bonded, and she is the one he has enjoyed the most, for of the three he has had, hers is the sense of humor and personality closest to his own. In life, Jaspir was Jaspeer, a lively, wild, loving Valley kaasht. He lived his life to the fullest and made every moment count-- whether in enjoying himself, learning something new, or enriching the life of another. Especially enriching the life of another, for that usually included both enjoying himself and learning something new, so it was three things he liked doing all rolled into one. He died at a ripe old age of two hundred and two, and the Spirit Elemental Kami could see that he just plain wasn't ready to stop kicking yet. So, armed with a brand new body, his outgoing charm, and his deep-set compassion, Jaspeer, now Jaspir, went back to Tryne. Drawn to the suffering of a young lesser minen, Jaspir made his first mistake of his second life, though with the best of intentions. He bonded with the mihhliin, only to discover that she was not only miserable because of a legitimate depression, but also because she was a slave with a horrible master, she had seen her twin brother die before her eyes not even a year ago, and she rarely got enough to eat. Jaspir tried to make her life a little better for her, but there was only so much a single murin could do, no matter how positively he thought or how loving he was. He finally managed to help her escape, only for her to die in the wild at the claws of a skreeya, to be made into a meal for the giant bird. Afraid that he would be taken back to the afterlife because he had failed so horribly, it took a year of wandering aimlessly without being killed or having his physical body revoked while he slept to reassure him that he was not to be denied a chance to make things better. Then, he found himself in the mountains, and bonded to a Mountain kit just coming out of his second level. This time around wasn't nearly as bad as the first, and all Jaspir had to do was lift the kaasht's spirits every few days to keep him from being bitter and depressed in his difficult, isolated life. He passed away in his sleep at age 197, leaving Jaspir again bondless, though not nearly as guilty. Fortunately for his own dearth of patience and excess of loneliness, the next kaasht he found to bond to was nearby, at a Protector base within the mountains. Jaspir drifted over the threshold a few days after the Mountain kaasht died and found himself drawn to the grief, guilt, and anger of a young tribreed kaasht whose mother, father, and "aunt" (in name only) had just died protecting her. He bonded with the kit, unable to not do something to help, and once she had gotten over the worst of her grieving for her family and fury at her new guardians for their ignorance, he was pleased to discover what a similar soul to she was to him. Jaspir has been with Raanrali for over a century now and is quite happy as her guardian and companion. The two tease each other back and forth often, as Jaspir feels quite comfortable enough with her to be as open as he is allowed to be and sees her more as an equal than a charge. He speaks openly with her, in full sentances, and even feels free enough as her partner to speak to others, as well, and indulge in his penchant for surprising, pranking, and amusing others as well as himself. |
