The true history of the Kaasht began about four thousand years before the present date in Tryne.

In that time they lived in peace in a huge sprawling city called Kan'gisha, which meant in the Old Mystic language 'Gathering'. At the time every single kaasht was an Old Mystic. Then they were just called Mystics. They lived in peace and harmony, with most Kaasht residing in Kan'gisha. In the city there was a priesthood of sorts called the Gatherers. They considered themselves to be of a higher order, meant to revere the Three Moons and the Elementals.

There were three particular members who wished higher things. One more than any of the other two. His name was Dei'kasi, or 'Keeper' or 'Protector'. He was unusual kaasht, even then. He was unusually large, and unusually gifted in his abilities. He was also a strange white/blue/silver color.

He was an extremely talented and intelligent kaasht. Even then he knew of the Elementals, and of the power that he could get if he could somehow learn all of the Elementals Sacred Names. He already knew five of the 13 that existed. Or so he thought.

It took him many years, many sacrifices, but he eventually learned all their Sacred Names. He was, by this time, almost mad with the anticipation of power that he would hold. He managed to convince two other kaasht, their names Anaakaash and Ch'iimia. Somewhat hesitantly they followed him into the Sacred Chamber, and he began the spell that would make the Elementals power his.

Dei'kasi was so sure of his plan, of his accedence to power, that he did not bother to hide what he was doing. He began the spell that could not be stopped once started. Uncertainly, the two kaasht, Anaakaash and Ch'iimia followed his lead. As Dei'kasi reached the end of the spell, he began to call out the names of the Elementals.

"Sagavi. Eng'oah. Qessani. Herow. Tey'rasko. Destinick. Mrakis. Lycian. Fy're'esclanoa. Esigian. H'hinaan. Weskaanasi. Xynama'seran'acka"

As he reached the end of the enchantment, the spell went wrong. The Sacred Names were wrong. All wrong.

The spell backfired, blasting the Sacred Chamber apart, killing Anaakaash and Ch'iimia. Dei'kasi lived.

The Elementals, for the first time, took action. They flooded world of Tryne with magic. It was known as the Time of Madness.

The whole of Kan'gisha was flooded with magic, making most kaasht go mad. Few escaped the massacre of the magic.

The ones who did escape left for the farthest reaches Tryne. Some took to the furnace like Deserts, other to the Forest, still others to the Mountains and Caves. In time, a short amount of time in an evolutionary scale, they changed, became adapted to their homes. Their abilities changed, became what they are today.

Few remember the Elementals, of Kan'gisha, of the Madness that occurred.

But one does remember, and he no longer goes by the name Dei'kasi. He name is now Chameleon.

The magic that blasted the room changed him. He became completely white, almost like an albino, but he is not. If one were to look closely, and few do, they would notice that his skin has every color. Also from the backwash he has acquired every single kaasht ability. Old and New.

And he is still trying to get the Elementals.
